More In Depth Description of LeapPad
Creating a Brand New Way to Read
|
|
Ultra eBooks are interactive, cinematic experiences designed to guide children through books and immerse them in the joy of reading. Each app is actually three books in one, with different story levels and modes optimized to support reading development. As a child builds his/her reading skills, the reading level of the story adjusts automatically and is remembered from book to book. Kids can even see the text change as they progress through the stories and as their reading skills improve. Innovative activities build comprehension skills and expand vocabulary while taking advantage of LeapPad Explorer’s fun features: use the touch screen to get word-by-word support or definitions, use the motion-based sensor for learning games or use the microphone to record personal story narration! |
Inspiring Imaginations with Creativity Apps and the Built-in Camera |
LeapPad inspires curious minds to imagine more, with a complete suite of innovative creativity tools featuring a built-in camera and video recorder, microphone, art, animation and photo studios. The onboard camera and video recorder lets kids capture a moment and make it their own! They can add effects to pictures using 10 different tools – smudge, stamp, stretch, swirl and more –or use the video recorder to shoot video, complete with sound. LeapPad Explorer lets kids take more than 30,000 photos or shoot 120 minutes of video!
Part of the innovation of LeapPad is in the way it’s built to share components across apps. The artwork, photos, writing and recordings kids create all culminate in the Story Studio experience, where kids use their creations to make their own stories all about them and share them with family and friends!

"Kids of all ages love tablets, but not every tablet is suitable for fingers covered in peanut butter and jelly. We're thinking the latest from LeapFrog would handle that situation without complaint and, with its chunky construction, should make it home undamaged after show and tell."
